Best Mother’s Day Brunch & Dinner in Collin County

Updated in 2022.

best mother's day brunch and dinner in collin countyThere is one thing I REALLY want this Mother’s Day: GREAT food that I don’t have to shop for, prep, cook, or clean up! Who’s with me on that one? Mind you, I’m eight months pregnant so I am soaking in the last few weeks of justifying every and all food cravings that come to me, and since I cannot have endless mimosas or a bloody mary, the food on Mother’s Day better be darn good!

I’ve spent some time researching some of the best Mother’s Day brunches, delicious dinners, and family-friendly top-rated fare in Collin County. Don’t worry, non-prego mamas, I’ve also found some stellar mom-osas and cocktails to pair with your food!

Mother’s Day Brunch in Collin County

Bonnie Ruth’s | Plano

Bonnie Ruth’s is offering a spectacular Mother’s Day Brunch Buffet, featuring a carving station, omelet bar, a variety of breakfast favorites, seafood, assorted breads, dessert, champagne, mimosas, bellinis, and MUCH more! Adults are $55 each, kids 12 and under $14.95 each, and toddlers that fit in a highchair are FREE!

Harry’s at the Harbor | McKinney

I’ve heard great things about the food here. They offer brunch every Sunday from 9am–2pm with delectable goodness ranging from salads and burgers to breakfast nachos and crab cake Benedict. They even offer a special kids’ brunch and of course, MIMOSAS and Bloody Marys made with their “secret infused vodka.” Okay, my mouth is watering.

True Food Kitchen | Plano

In addition to their regular brunch menu, True Food Kitchen will be celebrating moms with specialty dishes, beverages, and a gift for Mom on Saturday & Sunday only. My family and I have done Easter brunch here and it was incredible. Fast forward to me in eight weeks, and sign me up for ANY and ALL of these cocktails, too, please.

Del Frisco’s Grille | Plano

Did someone say French Onion Breakfast Sandwich and Nonna’s Pan Cinnamon Rolls? Sign. Me. Up. Reservations here are limited availability—BRB, I have to make a call STAT!

Lazy Dog | Plano

Three fantastic things about Lazy Dog in Plano: brunch until 2pm, it’s extremely kid-friendly, and you can bring your dog! How fun is that? You’ll enjoy the fresh air on the patio, the kids will be entertained by all the furry friends hanging out, and Mom can sit back, eat, drink, and RELAX. Done deal.

Mama’s Daughter’s Diner | Plano

This place is super casual but absolutely adorable. Mama’s Daughter’s Diner has been around since 1958 and has been recognized by magazines such as Southern Living and Cooking With Paula Deen. If you’re bringing your Mom out with you, you have daughters, or you just love southern home cooking, this is DEFINITELY a place to check out for Mother’s Day or ANY day!

Tupelo Honey | Frisco

If you haven’t been, Tupelo Honey is a modern take on southern cooking, offering incredible options like pimento cheese nachos, charcuterie boards, fried chicken Cobb salads, blackberry habanero ribs, house-made non-alcoholic drinks, specialty cocktails, and an extensive kids’ menu, which is always appreciated!

Whiskey Cake | Plano

If you haven’t tried this place yet, you need to just stop what you’re doing and go today. Their food is delicious and their actual Whiskey Cake is to die for! They offer a beautiful patio area for seating, making it easier to bring the kids along and still be able to enjoy the ambiance of the evening. You can always just order an entire Whiskey Cake to go, have the hubby put the kids to bed, and indulge yourself in the comfort of PJs and trash TV. Can Mother’s Day just last all week? I have a lot of eating to do.

Hat Creek Burger Company | Multiple locations

Hat Creek has really exploded since first coming on the scene. Their food is restaurant quality without the endless restaurant patience required when dining out with kids. They have a fantastic play place where Mom can sit and watch while sipping on something from the beer/wine menu. If you’re not looking for anything too fancy, I would highly recommend this place!

Cane Rosso | Frisco & Carrollton

Who doesn’t love pizza? Cane Rosso has one of the BEST pizzas in Collin County and DFW if you ask me—and trust me, I grew up in an Italian, pizza-snob family. Chances are you’ve tried them, but if want to please the whole family with doughy, cheesy comfort food, it would make a great Mother’s Day choice.

Pin Stack | Allen & Plano

It may not be a relaxing day at the spa, but I always enjoy a fun day of bowling with the family. The pub-style food, drinks, and look of enjoyment on the kid’s faces always makes a mama happy. If you’re looking for old-fashioned fun, grub, and something to take your mind off of everyday stresses, try making an afternoon of family bowling!

Okay, mamas, there you have it. My research and knowledge of the best Mother’s Day brunch and dinner in Collin County have brought us here. I haven’t quite made my decision on where I’ll end up stuffing my face, but I can tell you one thing: I’m walking away from my computer right now and getting something to EAT!
