Our family loves the library. We started going to the library when my son was three months old. My son and I visit two libraries in Collin County every week and utilize all the wonderful resources at each one. What is even better is that they are free! Frisco Library

The Ready to Read Railroad is unique to Frisco and is a wonderful place for children ages 0-5 to engage in active learning with reading, writing, science, and many other disciplines, all in a fun environment. There is a max capacity of 28 people and on peak days there can be a wait. This is free for anyone to visit and you don’t have to live in Frisco to enjoy this wonderful place.
The Frisco library also has story time classes for all ages to enjoy. We personally attend a Lap Baby class on Wednesday mornings and have made many friends since we started attending. These story times are interactive and fun, and I love how my son enjoys the time we spend at the library. They also offer many activities and classes for older children and the entire family.

Plano library has many unique programs at its many locations around Plano. They’re currently offering a variety of age-appropriate storytimes that teach early literacy and reading readiness skills for children.
Allen Public Library

Allen library offers many virtual story times for babies and families to enjoy together. These literacy-based activities incorporate reading, talking, playing, singing and writing, especially for families with toddlers and preschoolers.
Currently, APL is hosting Story Walks, a self-led activity in which pages of a children’s storybook are placed along a path or trail. To participate in Allen Public Library’s StoryWalk, begin at sign #1 by the flagpole entrance outside the Library building and continue to follow the numbered signs as you read along!
City of McKinney Libraries

McKinney library has a calendar of events for all of its children’s programs and it has an array of different activities from lap-sit classes to mother-daughter book club gatherings. Storytime Kits available here.
Smith Public Library in Wylie

To the East, the City of Wylie has a large public library with fantastic children’s programming. Their children’s area has been completely designed to accommodate children from baby to tween and all needs in between.
