Unique Eats of Collin County

I grew up having to try everything once and then if I didn’t like it then I could eat something else. So as an adult, I try to be adventurous when it comes to food and love to try new things.

We all can get into routine when it comes to our food choices, but be adventurous! Let your palate do the tasting and have fun with the food choices you have around you in Collin County. These are a few of my favorites in Collin County. If anyone wants to join me in my foodie adventures, let me know we can share πŸ™‚

This is my husbands favorite meal because he enjoys the comforting feeling it brings him and this is a staple in our household during the cold months. I started eating pho in college, great meal when you’re sick or just feel like you need a hearty meal that will make you feel good. Try the spring rolls and traditional beef pho.

My Recommendation :: Pho Apple – 5930 W Park Blvd Suite 400 Plano, TX 75093

Dim Sum

Cantonese style of cuisine that involves small plates of food that are transported by carts that travel around the restaurant. I love dim sum so much because it reminds me of my childhood and eating with family and friends. The meal is very communal and you will create some fun food memories while you are eating.Weekends are very busy and there is usually a small wait. Try the shrimp shiu mai and bbq pork fun roll.

My Recommendation :: JS Chen – 240 Legacy Suite 118 Plano 75023

Sushi

Revolving sushi bar, plates come on conveyor belt, each plate $2.25. This concept of sushi has been around a long time in Asia, but I recently tried this style of sushi and it was a fun and yummy concept for the whole family.

My Recommendation :: Kula Sushi – 100 Legacy Dr Suite 100 Plano 75023

Bubble Tea

I have been coming here since high school, super fresh and yummy smoothies and fast service. Bubble tea is a fun place to come after a meal and get a refreshing drink or as a snack. They have jellies and boba that can accompany your drink, don’t be afraid to ask for a sample. (To me they taste like gummy bears πŸ™‚ Try the mango peach smoothie or classic milk tea.

My Recommendation :: Fat Straws – 6509 W Park Blvd Suite 425 Plano 75093

Chinese

This is home, anytime I eat authentic Cantonese food I am transported back to my childhood and family dinners at home. Many of these dishes are very simple and common like beef and broccoli, but some are truly authentic like the roasted duck. Don’t be afraid to look around at other tables to see what looks good. Cash only.

My Recommendation :: 1st Chinese – 3304 Coit Rd Suite 200 Plano 75023

Taiwanese

I tried this style of food for the first time a few years ago, I was surprised how good and different it was from other Chinese food I was used to eating.The broth is a darker color from the beef stock that is used and the noodles are thicker and have a yummy chewy consistency.Try the beef noodle soup and the home made dumplings. $25 minimum for credit card.
